Nikon D90

I eventually put my hands on MY own Nikon D90... Yet, given a heavy schedule and PN setting a dinner for the departure of our Japanese designer friend, I won't try it until tomorrow evening at best!

Should you need instructions on Nikon D90, check the User Guide written by Ken Rockwell http://kenrockwell.com/nikon/d90/users-guide/d90.pdf

This camera is #5 after Coolpix880, D70, D70s,D50... Customer loyalty should always be rewarded ;-)

A real Nikon specialist... Choulan

When I got my Nikon D70 I wondered how many pictures I took. As I browsed the internet to find answers, I downloaded ShootNum. This software gave the answers I was looking for. That software has been developed by Choulan.

You can check the following pages in french:
I also found this site http://photo.net/nikon/

It’s not having what you want, it’s wanting what you have

Fantastic wildlife photographer,Moose Peterson, is quoting Sheryl Crow from her "Soak up the sun" song in a very interesting post from his blog about Nikon D3 vs Nikon D3X... I found it while searching for D2X information as the choice narrows (!) down to :
  • D90 : cool, cheapest and very convenient but SD & DX. About €850
  • D300 : highest range in DX format, CF but DX. About €1350
  • D700 : best compromise yet need to change lense system from Nikkor DX to Nikkor FX About €2200
  • D3 : Best in all classes yet, close to D3X, double CF but far too expensive and Nikkor FX needed. About €4000 or above €3000 as second hand
  • D2X : second hand, 10K shots on 150K, 5 years old (end 2004)

Check his blog http://www.moosenewsblog.com/ and his web site http://www.moosepeterson.com/home.html

I loved my D70 which was my best companion on my first trip to Japan, loved the D70s despite its trigger problem (fixed for free by Nikon under warranty, 2 weeks before the end of it) and still find useful the D50 (despite horrible SD limited to 2GB). But they lack speed and low light quality and 6MP cannot comply with publishing.

The best camera is the one that's with you

Chase Jarvis is just right. Too bad I kind of gave up taking pictures everyday since I lost my little SONY T100... Yet I found my new camera : I'll take my outdated D50 with the Nikon 18-70@3,5-5,6 or the Sigma 18-50@2,8DC. I tried it couple times on the weekends. It works though it outsizes a slim iPhone definitely.

Back to Chase Jarvis who basically takes his iPhone as an instant camera anywhere he goes. He also writes a blog http://blog.chasejarvis.com/blog/

Visit his iPhone pictures gallery by browsing http://www.chasejarvis.com/ then PORTFOLIOS then IPHONE AS ART

Excellent concept and very good sense of marketing at times iPhone is the new fab.

DxO

Today is DxO day! I used it for the first time with some of my Star Wars Fan Convention pictures. It works real well yet you have to be more clever on some pics.

Stuart, Matt : Street photographer

An artist I did not knwo about until today... Same concept as me : walk the streets in search of original and unique pictures.

This is really street art and chance... Matt Stuart is a modern poet who brings the fading moments of life we would never live without him. As such, he brings magics to our world by highlighting these little moments of magics that are just around the corner.

Thanks to Libération for bringing Matt Stuart to my/our knowledge!
And let Matt Stuart show you what you missed... (use the top right arrows to browse pictures)

SLR? How many pics?

Wonder how many pictures took that second hand SLR camera you'd like to buy at bargain price?

Impossible to know unless you know this software!

Marine geek or underwater otaku?

I read the news and I found this scuba diving mask with embedded camera... Somehow, It reminded me of the outdoor camera developped by Oregon Scientific.

Liquid Image surely introduced this summer's new toy!

Sometimes life seems like a manga strip

While listening to Massive Attack... How could I ever forget 'Unfinished Sympathy' in Paris' Chinatown on Edgard's TV. MTV had it. As well as Prince. Still remember the day I rushed out to buy videotapes to record the 'Prince day' clips. Who will ever remember this in the future? Hope my soul is a suitcase for memories...
