Mrs. Srey Um is a farmer in Trapaing Prey village in Takeo province. She owns a piece of land where she cultivates rice. Her husband, Mr. Doem Thy, is a motorbike taxi driver. Even though they try to work hard, they do not earn enough income for the family to improve their living conditions. In addition, Mrs. Srey Um family members live in an old house which needs to be repaired.
Mrs. Srey Um is asking for a loan to buy timers to fix the house. She is 31 years old and the mother of six children, two of whom are employed in a garment factory, three are enrolled in the local school, and the remaining one is too young to work or study. Her husband is also shown in the photo.
