This loan goes to nine people in Phum Ty village, in Kampong Chhnang province, who formed a village bank loan group. They will each use the loan for different purposes. Mrs. Sahun Chhor is the village bank president, selected by the members. She and her husband, Mr. Chhor Sahun, are construction workers. Since their work place is far from home, they spend a lot of money on transportation. In order to reduce these expenses, Mrs. Sahun Chhor decided to ask for a loan to buy a bike to go to work. She will use the rest of the loan to buy chickens for breeding. Mrs. Sahun Chhor is 28 years old and the mother of two children, one of whom attends the local school while the younger one, at age five, is too young to work or study.
